It was a frantic morning. No time for a leisurely breakfast of cereal and the morning papers. Just coffee in a to-go cup, a granola bar and a cursory scan of my e-mail on the way out the door. I zipped up the freeway to Nueva School in Hillsborough, listening for traffic reports, checking my voice mail and wondering how my life got so crazy-busy.

But not to worry. Dr. Ned Hallowell was going to fix everything.

The Harvard psychiatrist and author of “CrazyBusy: Overstretched, Overbooked, and about to Snap!” was going to explain how to unhook from data overload, jettison stress, lead a simpler life and raise happy, successful children.
