We are pleased to announce the opening of a new Hallowell Center in New York. Now people in the New York area can access the expertise of the Hallowell Center. Dr. Edward Hallowell and his partner, Dr. Thor Bergersen, will be seeing patients in New York on a weekly basis. We have also hired a staff of additional clinicians so the office will be open Monday – Friday.

The approach of the Center will be strength-based. We see ADD, dyslexia, and other learning issues as potential gifts that can be difficult to unwrap. Our aim will always be to identify talents and strengths first and foremost, and then to set about doing whatever needs to be done to unwrap the gifts.

We will use both standard and complementary approaches. That is to say, we will offer medication, coaching, behavioral and cognitive therapies, individual, couples, and family counseling, school consultations, as well as nutritional treatments, exercise-based treatments, and neurofeedback. Our basic philosophy is to do whatever works, as long as it is safe and legal. Above all, we will seek to instill hope as well as an effective and practical plan to make progress toward realizing goals and dreams. We look forward to working with you.
