Dr. Hallowell Giving Two Summer "Camps" in 2008
Dr. Hallowell invites families with children with ADHD and, separately, teachers and adults interested in learning more about ADHD to two summer sessions he is giving this summer.
From June 30 - July 4, Dr. Hallowell will be teaching a course on ADHD for professionals and non-professionals at The Cape Cod Institute. The course will emphasize Dr. Hallowell's strength-based approach to treating ADHD and is entitled Unwrapping the Gifts: A Strength-Based Approach to ADHD. From childhood through adulthood, ADHD presents both difficult dilemmas and unique opportunities for change, growth, and success. The goal of diagnosis and treatment is to transform ADHD from a chronic liability into an overall asset in life. The purpose of this seminar is to show how to do precisely that and to present all the exciting new information we have learned about ADHD in the past decade. The mornings will be devoted to coursework, with the afternoons for play.
From July-13 - July 18, at a resort on the shores of Lake Michigan, Dr. Hallowell will join the staff of the Leelanau School for The Ned Hallowell ADHD Summer Enrichment Camp at The Leelanau School. Each day will include educational sessions for adults and children-separately- from 9 a.m. to noon. The children's sessions will be run by the Leelanau staff, as well as by Dr. Hallowell and are for kids with ADHD entering 5th grade to entering 12th grade. The adult sessions will be run by Dr. Hallowell with assistance from some of the Leelanau staff. Afternoons will be for playing and having fun.
Please take a look at the web sites for both of these courses for further information about costs, timing, accomodations, etc. If you have further questions about content, please email Dr. Hallowell directly at ehallowell@aol.com.

This approach integrates the latest research on brain, body and heart. In addition to the Center in Sudbury, there are now Hallowell Centers in Needham, MA and New York.
