Furthermore, we provide comprehensive care for a range of cognitive and emotional concerns in teenagers and adults including:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),
- Anxiety Disorder, and
Our practitioners use Dr. Hallowell’s signature strength-based approach. They work together in close contact with their patients and one another to help resolve whatever challenges you are facing and improve your quality of life.
A frequent question we get from prospective clients is whether they need an evaluation or neuropsychological testing.
Generally, a clinical evaluation is the place to start if an individual has questions about whether they have ADHD or an associated condition. A clinical evaluation involves meeting with a clinician who will discuss your:
- reasons for coming to the center,
- current challenges and strengths,
- any clinical symptoms you may have, and
- your history to help determine a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
Neuropsychological testing will be recommended if you are looking for accommodations for school, standardized testing or work. If the clinician suspects underlying learning issues or has other questions that the clinical interview does not answer, Neuropsychological testing may also be recommended.
In keeping with the “strength-based” approach of our founder, Dr. Ned Hallowell, we offer a comprehensive menu of treatments.
The Hallowell Center SFO has gained a reputation for being on the cutting edge of treatment in the field of ADHD and other associated conditions. Our goal is to help you develop an effective, and practical, “game plan” that addresses the challenges you face and does so from a 360-degree perspective. With every treatment plan we develop, we always consider the various settings where the plan will be implemented, including home, school, workplace, and within peer group and social settings. We encourage you to explore in greater detail each of the treatments offered at The Hallowell Center SFO.
Coaching can be a very helpful component in the treatment of ADHD (and other issues as well). It is different from therapy. Coaching helps people improve their performance and focus in the here and now and not in the past. Coaches actively help you build scaffolding and develop strategies to better perform at work, school, and in interpersonal relationships. They help you develop a plan and then hold you accountable for following through with that plan. Coaching can be done in person or video conferencing or by phone. There has been a lot of apps developed in the past few years that complement work with your coach.
- ADHD Coaching for Adults
- Parent Coaching
- Executive Function and Academic Coaching for Children and Adolescents
- Coaching for College Students
